Local notices
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,
Since we are now in Week 6, our next newsletter will be coming out in Week 10. In the meantime, for more frequent updates on school highlights, be sure to check out our Facebook page!
Recent Highlights
- Swim Camp with Bedourie – Our students had an amazing time at swim camp, building their water skills and having fun with friends from Bedourie.
- HASS Excursions – As part of our HASS curriculum, we’ve been exploring the old hospital and post office, learning about the contrast between new and old technologies. It’s been a fantastic way for students to connect with history and innovation.
- Mrs. Hodder’s Visits – We’ve loved having Mrs. Hodder at the school! She will be returning in Week 9 and Week 10, and we are excited to welcome her back.
- Musical Magic with Mrs Hatfield– We had the pleasure of hosting Mrs Hatfield for a day, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed her musical activities!
- Pancake Day Success – What a fantastic turnout! Thank you to everyone who supported the school by coming together to enjoy delicious pancakes and a great community event.
Looking Ahead
- School Review in Term 2 – This is an important process for both our school and the wider community. The review helps us reflect on our progress and set goals for the future. We appreciate the ongoing support of our families and community as we prepare for this.
- Miss Olivia’s New Role – We’re excited to share that Miss Olivia is now a Pre-Service Teacher (PTT). This means she will be able to teach in the classroom alongside myself, using the co-teaching cycle. This will be a fantastic opportunity to support student learning through collaboration and shared teaching.
- Playgroup – While playgroup at our school is currently on hold, we are supporting Little Red’s across the road. We encourage families to check out their activities in the meantime.
- NAPLAN – A reminder that Grade 3 and 5 students will be sitting NAPLAN assessments soon. We will continue to support students in feeling confident and prepared.
- Harmony Week (Week 8) – Keep an eye out for a flyer about our Harmony Day celebrations! We look forward to celebrating diversity and inclusivity with our students and families.
- Swimming Carnival (Week 9) – We’re gearing up for an exciting Swimming Carnival with Bedourie and Boulia on March 27th at the Bedourie Swimming Pool. This will be a great day of competition, fun, and sportsmanship.
- Week 10 Arrangements – I will be away during Week 10, but Mrs. Hodder will be here to support the school and ensure everything runs smoothly alongside Lesley and Miss Liv.
School Food Program – Miss Olivia’s Menu
Miss Olivia has been busy preparing a nutritious and delicious menu for our school food program.
We are excited to provide students with healthy, balanced meals to keep them energized throughout the school day. Thank you to everyone who supports this initiative!
Plumbing and Maintenance Updates
We’ve had some much-needed plumbing works completed around the school, improving our facilities for students and staff. Recent upgrades include:
- A new cold water bubbler, providing fresh, chilled water for students to stay hydrated.
- Irrigation for the greenhouse, ensuring our plants thrive with an efficient watering system.
- Gutter cleaning, helping to maintain our school buildings and prevent blockages.
- Installation of a washing machine, which will be a great help in keeping school resources clean and ready for use.
These improvements will make a big difference in our daily school life, and we appreciate everyone involved in getting these projects completed!
Thank you all for your continued support in making our school a wonderful place to learn and grow. Stay connected via our Facebook page for more updates, and we look forward to sharing more news with you in Week 10!
