From the Acting Principal

Good afternoon families and community, I have spent this last week in Brisbane at a Beginning Principal Program. It was a great learning experience, although I missed being in Birdsville and seeing the students!
Thank you again to Mrs Hodder who has left glowing reviews of the staff and students at BSS. Everyone was very appreciative of her efforts and have told me all that they learnt from her.

Swimming
Can I please ask that your child brings in the following items for their safety swimming lesson:
- tracksuit pants
- shoes that can get wet
- jumper
Positive Postcards
Last week your child may have received a Positive Postcard, these are being implemented once a term to boost self-confidence in the students and to feel recognition for their hard work and effort across a variety of contexts.
Melbourne Cup public holiday
A reminder that the Melbourne Cup public holiday is on Tuesday 6th November.
Staff updates
- The teacher vacancy brief is still advertised.
- Playgroup facilitator, Nell Braun, has decided to return to Brisbane. We wish her all the best and will miss her deeply.
- I will be going away again on the 12th to the 15th of November to meet with other Principals from our OAA cluster. Suzie Clarke will be here to relieve whilst I am away.
Visitors
On Monday the 4th Of November we have the Exercise Physiologist, Podiatrist and Dietitian visiting the students and playgroup friends to share some of their tips and tricks for a healthy lifestyle. We look forward to meeting them.
