From the Acting Principal

Good afternoon everyone,
What a fun week we have had this week with our District Relief Teacher, Matthew Letts. Today was his last day the students had a fantastic time being taught by him this week and especially looking at the plane tracker with him.
Staff updates:
- The teacher vacancy brief is still advertised.
- Next week (week 4), we welcome Rosemarie Hodder to our school on Friday the 25th until the 31st of October. Ms Hodder will be the Officer in Charge and teacher whilst I am away in Brisbane for a Beginning Principal's development week.
Curriculum:
We have had to start more upkeep on our garden now that the weather is heating up, there is much more watering involved now!
In Mathematics students have been playing a subitising game to see who can recognise the number of images first, daily skip counting competitions, partitioning and place value activities.
In English students have been delving into the text, language and visual structures of narratives and informative texts and creating amazing creative stories with fabulous use of adjectives and verbs to make their writing more detailed. They have also been perfecting their reading comprehension by making predictions, making connections and monitoring the text's meaning.
In Science students have been learning topic specific vocabulary for their learning on materials and their properties.
In Tech students began their new learning on coding and algorithm's using the bee bots!
