Pelican Brief 5th Feb 2024
From the Principals Desk

It is hard to believe we are already back from our Christmas holidays! Welcome to Week three, Term One I hope you were all able to have an opportunity to spend time with family relax and reset for what is panning out to be yet another very busy year!
We have definitely hit the ground running, beginning the school year with a visit from Adam who is relieving for Stephan. He came and introduced himself and delivered a road safety lesson to the kids they won’t be forgetting anytime soon! We have had our first two community reading session; these are held every Thursday and we are hoping to have guest readers from the community participate- thank you Adam for being our first guest reader. If you are in Birdsville and available on a Thursday between 8:50-9:15am please email me (principal@birdsvilless.eq.edu.au) and we can arrange a day for you to read! If reading aloud isn’t your thing, that’s okay! We would still love to see your face at one or more of our sessions!
Our Pelican Pals Playgroup began on Friday 2nd February and will run every Friday of the term between 8:45am-11:00am. It was a fantatsic morning and we can't wait for this weeks. See below a summary of activities from last Friday.

Welcome back everybody!
This term you would have recieved a welcome pack outlining relevant information in regards to school, staff and curriculum. This is a very exciting term as we have our Brisbane camp at the beginning of March!
Our greenhouse is still going strong, thank you to Amber for keeping it alive over the summer holidays.
We held our first playgroup recently and the toddlers had a ball with the activities on offer! Remember this is every Friday from 8:45am to 11:00am.
This week is set to be cooler, which we are all looking forward to being able to play and run outside again!
Kind regards,
