Pelican Brief Issue 5, Term 2
From the Principal

Welcome to the last newsletter of the semester! This issue is nice and brief as Harriet is away on camp with all of our students.
We have had a massive term/semester and I would like to thank, students, parents and our staff on a fantastic first semester. Report cards will be sent home today. A very big congratulations to every student on their efforts so far; they have worked extremely hard in all learning areas. A special mention to Harriet for completing her first semester of teaching!
I am writing this for the last time as Miss Glassey, over the holidays I am off to get married and am taking the first two weeks of Term Three off. While I am absent Eliza Panitz will be acting Principal in week one and Janet Hatfield will be acting Principal in week two. Please make them feel welcome. During the holidays, the principal inbox will not be checked regularly and emails will be replied to once I've returned to work.
This week, Harriet, Venessa and Amber accompanied our students to Windorah. A very big thank you to the ladies for taking time out of their own lives/families to make this camp possible for our students. Windorah sports camp has been a very long tradition for our Outback Advantage schools (Amber and Venessa attended them!) and I can confirm we had some very tired students in attendance today. Thank you to Windorah State school and P&C for organising this wonderful camp!
This weekend the P&C will be selling our shirts, cookbooks, popcorn and some neckscarves (made by Sam!) at the Birdsville Gymkhana. If you have not ordered a cookbook or shirt yet but would like one please get in contact with our P&C.
We already have a very full calendar for next term, an updated copy of the term three calendar will be sent home in week one.
I hope you all have a fantastic holiday, relax and unwind; and if you are here, enjoy the bash! I look forward to seeing you all in Term Three.
Laura
